About Me

Hi, I’m Dan — founder of Natural Balance Holistics.

My work is focused on helping people move out of pain, tension, and long-standing physical issues by working with the body in a structured, practical way.

How This Started

I first became interested in alternative health when I was around 14.

I was dealing with regular stress headaches, and conventional medication wasn’t really helping. Out of necessity, I started experimenting with herbal teas and simple natural approaches — and for the first time, something actually made a difference.

That experience stayed with me.

It wasn’t just about symptom relief — it was the realisation that the body could be worked with in a different way.

Training, Setbacks, and Depth

At 18, I began formal training in complementary therapies — aromatherapy, massage, reflexology, Indian head massage — alongside anatomy and physiology.

Just before completing my qualifications, I was involved in a serious car accident and was unable to stand upright for several months. That meant I couldn’t complete my case studies, and I left with the training, but without the formal qualifications.

Instead of stepping away, I went deeper.

During the years that followed, I continued studying independently, exploring complementary health in more depth, and began training in Reiki. I also undertook science-based study through the Open University to strengthen my understanding of the body from a more clinical perspective.

Building Real Experience

When I was finally able to return to formal training, I rebuilt everything properly.

From there, my training expanded significantly, including:

  • Clinical aromatherapy (Level 5)

  • Advanced massage and soft tissue work (Level 5)

  • Reflexology and specialist reflex techniques

  • Myofascial release and orthopaedic assessment

  • Trigger point therapy and injury-focused work

Alongside this, I trained in:

  • Emotional Freedom Technique (EFT) and Matrix Reimprinting

  • Aromatic medicine and advanced plant-based approaches

  • A range of complementary and integrative therapies

I’ve worked across different environments, from clinical settings to spas, and spent time studying internationally, including in the United States — gaining insight into different approaches to complementary healthcare.

How I Work Now

Over time, what I realised is this:

No single therapy works for every person.

What matters is understanding the body in front of you, and applying the right combination of approaches to create change.

My work now brings together:

  • Advanced bodywork

  • Clinical aromatherapy

  • Structural and functional understanding of the body

  • Nervous system awareness

  • Complementary and, where appropriate, subtle approaches

All applied in a grounded, practical, and results-focused way.

Where I Am Now

I continue to train, teach, and develop my work.

I am also a teacher with Natural Therapeutics, supporting the next generation of therapists in developing safe, effective, and well-structured practice.

Everything I’ve experienced — including the setbacks — has shaped how I work today.

It’s why I focus on:

  • Doing things properly

  • Working with the body, not against it

  • And helping people create real, lasting change

Working With Me

If you’re dealing with something that isn’t resolving — whether it’s pain, restriction, or a longer-term issue — my aim is to help you understand what’s going on and start moving things in the right direction.
